Broadband Connection and Wireless routers



Types of Broadband
There are different types of broadband service's-  Mainly 4 types
ADSL and DSL This connection uses the telephone lines to access internet.
Cable Connection which uses a cable network.
Sattelite Connection: Internet will be accessed through antenna, This connection provides a static ip address.


All these broadband connections requires a equipment called a "router" in order to share the network.

Wireless Router's
If you use a wired router connection from an ADSL or cable modem you can only connect a single computer as there is only one network (Ethernet) port leading from the router to the computer. However, with a wireless router you can connect the Ethernet cable to the router which will than broadcast the wireless signal to as many computers as you want, you can establish a wireless home network.

Types of Router
There are different types of routeres. These routers are classified on their features and wireless range. The company producing high-performance routers is D-Link, Belkin, Linksys, and Netgear.
When you first register for broadband with an Internet Service Provider (ISP) you will be sent a router. Once you configure this router, you will be able to share network.
